A two-week online Refresher Course in Social Sciences has been organized by UGC-MMTTC University of Jammu in collaboration with the Department of Sociology. It aims at providing the participants with the opportunity to deepen their understanding and expertise in various disciplines within the field.
Prof Rahul Gupta, Registrar, University of Jammu, was the Chief Guest on the inauguration day. While speaking on the occasion, he discussed that the refresher course offers a unique opportunity to participants to revitalize their passion for learning, explore new ideas, and contribute to the advancement of theoretical and practical knowledge in the social sciences.
Prof Sandeep Pandita, Director of the MMTTC, University of Jammu informed everyone about the future programs of MMTTC and encouraged the teachers to avail benefit from the programs on National Education Policy being organized by the centre. Prof Vishav Raksha, HoD, Department of Sociology and the Course Coordinator informed the participants in detail about the various topics being covered in this course. She informed that various experienced faculty members and experts have been invited in this Refresher Course and it promises to be a transformative journey for participants seeking to expand their horizons and engage in critical discourse on contemporary social issues.
Participants from across different disciplines and parts of the country are actively participating in this course which is designed to cater to professionals and educators who are looking to refresh their knowledge, explore new perspectives, and enhance their skills in disciplines such as sociology, history, anthropology, economics, political science and more. This unique course offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical insights with practical applications, ensuring a holistic learning experience for all participants. Faculty members of the department including Dr. Hema Gandotra, Ms Kajal Kalsi, Ms Diksha Nargotra and Dr Gopal Sharma along with the scholars were also present.
