Introduction

The Office of the Dean of Planning and Development was established in the University of Jammu on _23-01-2017 vide order no.Adm/TW/17/5238-88, as per 81st University Council Resolution No.s 3.14.3, 3.14.4 and 3.14.5.

This office is integral to the planning, expansion, and diversification of institutional activities across the University.

The Office of the Dean of Planning and Development is responsible for:
Planning and Development Proposals, Preparing and submitting plans, estimates, and revised estimates for civil, electrical, sanitary, network systems, and other development works for the main and all off-site campuses.

New Courses and Position Proposals: To review various  proposals for initiation of new programme and courses of study in their viability of job requirement and feasibility and addition , creating new teaching and non-teaching positions.

Construction and Maintenance Oversight: Monitoring the construction and maintenance of buildings, roads, water supply, sanitation, electrification, and other developmental works.

Data Management: Liaising and Maintaining statistical data of plans and projects for reports to various departments of the Jammu and Kashmir Government, Ministry of Human Resource Development, UGC, and other agencies.

Project Monitoring: Overseeing physical targets and fund utilization for projects and consultancy, and preparing documents for progress report submissions.

The Dean Planning and Development shall also function as the administrative head of the Development Section and University Works Department.
