Dr. Chinmoyee Maharana, Coordinator, Science Club, hosted a radio program at FM 91.2 Dhwani JU on November 24, 2023, at 10 a.m., on the topic "New Ways and Challenges in Agriculture with Special Focus on J&K" in conversation with Dr Sangram K. Lenka, Associate Professor, Gujarat Biotechnology University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Dr. Harish Chander Dutta raised numerous pertinent questions for farmers in Jammu and Kashmir. They also went over a number of global agricultural concerns. Several new agricultural practices and modern breeding technologies, including use of drones and AI technology, can be merged for precision agriculture to address significant difficulties confronting small-scale farmers in the state. Dr. Sangram underlined the importance of diversifying the food basket, including locally grown seasonal crops and landraces along with agroforestry, for nutritional security and climate resilience. This will unleash the hidden potential for J&K agriculture.
