Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan

Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan ( UBA) is a flagship programme of Govt of India under MHRD. University of Jammu is fortunate enough to get selected under UBA chapter at a National Level. Under this programme, five villages have been adopted. The villages are Ghomanasa, Chatta, Jagti, Bajalta, Akhnoor (Parshoti). Two survey forms namely village survey form at BDO level and household form for which data collection is under process. Data from the villagesChatta and Ghomanasa have been collected, while the data collection from other three is in process. One workshop at chandigarh has been attended by two faculty members of the University on 4th December, 2018 at NITTTR, Chandigarh. ( Dr Hema Gandotra and Dr Bharti Prabhakar). After the collection of the data, the uploading will be done on the portal.

Jammu University students start Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan in Jagti Nagrota

Students from Jammu University started the Baseline Survey in Jagti Nagrota Area under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan Mission initiated by the Ministry of HRD. The students from various departments of the university came all the way to the jagti Nagrota Area and started the drive.

The Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan is being supervised by Prof. Jasbir Singh who is the convener of this Abhiyaan. University of Jammu was selected at the national level by the HRD Ministry for this Abhiyaan. It is pertinent to mention that earlier the students of Jammu University had also participated in the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 100 hours Programme. The students did a fabulous work and the work was appreciated by the higher authorities.

The team comprising of Vikas Pandita, Vivek Parihar, Sajal Mahajan, Gourav sehgal, Rashpal Singh , yashpaul , Nandini , Amrit , Ashwani , Diksha ,Kirti and prof shallu Jamwal Dept of Mathematics had a meeting with the Sarpanch of block Nagrota . 

While discussing with the sapanch Committee, Vikas Pandita and Vivek Parihar and sajal Mahajan Senior NSS Volunteers gave the brief description about this Abhiyaan and how the youth could contribute in this mission.

The team was divided into sub groups who visited every household and gathered the data regarding the survey. The volunteers were feeling highly motivated to be a part of this mission.

The survey consisted of questions regarding the details of the family, number of family members, education status, occupational status, health problems, Agricultural land, drainage system, toilets, aadhar card, bank accounts, pension, source of water, source of energy and power, livestock etc.

The data collected will be uploaded on the website of Ministry of HRD and key problems will be identified so that necessary steps could be taken.
