UESDC, University of Jammu organizes 15-days online course on Life Skills

University Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Centre, University of Jammu organized a 15 days online course on Life Skills for the undergraduate students. The programme was organized  in collaboration with the Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu and Government Degree College, Reasi.

Vice chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof. Manoj. K. Dhar, inaugurated the programme and while speaking on the occasion referred various programmes undertaken by University of Jammu through online mode for the upliftment of the skills among students. Prof. Dhar in his address emphasized upon the relevance of skill based programs which help the students to think rationally and act purposefully in life. He also stressed upon the importance of life skills and various elements that come under the domain which are important to learn for the students to deal with the challenges of everyday life.

Jb Talat Parvez Rohilla, Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education, was Guests of Honor. In his address, he thoroughly appreciated the joint initiative of University and college in bettering the quality of life of college students by offering them a course which will help them to uplift their skills for life. He expressed his pleasure to see such initiatives, as they will help in reaching to the remotest areas of Jammu province through such platforms and would be helping hundreds of students in the long run.

Prof Alka Sharma, Convenor, UESDC, University of Jammu, presented a formal welcome address; she extended her warm welcome to the dignitaries and highlighted the significance of life skills for a student and how life skills make them responsible and efficient citizens. She also briefed the 15 days programme and its components which include topics like emotional wellness, communication and interpersonal skills, time management, anger management, resilience, stress handling etc which will be delivered by the speakers from all over the country who are from Psychology, Management, HR and International trainers as well

Prof Chander Shekhar, Principal GDC, Reasi, expressed his gratitude to the University of Jammu for this collaboration. He mentioned that such initiatives are going to be very helpful for the students of distant areas who always wait for such opportunities to develop their skills and prepare for the world of work

 

Dr. Kavita Suri, Director DLL, presented a formal vote of thanks on the occasion where she profoundly thanked everyone present at the inaugural. The programme was conducted by Dr Pallavi Sachdeva, Course Coordinator.  The program was attended by the faculty members of the college and students of Govt. Degree College, Reasi.
