University of Jammu signs MoU with ICSI

In a landmark decision, University of Jammu has signed a MOUMemorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)under the initiative of Department of Commerce.

The objective of the MoU isto impart knowledge and hone the skills of students, academicians and professionals of both the institutions.The MoU would facilitate a comprehensive partnership in the areas of joint academicresearch, joint workshops, professional development & faculty development programmesalong with sharing of resources and participation in conferences, workshops and seminars. Under the collaboration, the toppers of specific programmes will be awarded with ICSI Signature Award - Gold Medal and a scholarship to pursue the Company Secretary Course.The MoU was signed by Prof. ArvindJasrotia, Registrar University of Jammu and ICSI President C S AshishGarg in the presence of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Professor ManojDhar.Emphasising on the need for such collaborations, CS AshishGarg, President ICSI, said “This undertaking would not just help in fostering the relationship between the two partner institutes but would also promote professional development of students”.Sharing his happiness on University of Jammu joining hands with ICSI, University Vice-Chancellor Professor ManojDharremarked that this collaboration will not only help in developing the skills of the stakeholders through enhanced academic initiatives but will also bring new opportunities for them.Prof. ArvindJasrotia appreciated the initiative for collaborative work.

Prof Hardeep Chahal welcomed the dignitaries while Dr JeevanJyoti Gupta presented vote of thanks on the occassion. The programme witnessed the presence of Mr. AK Srivastava (Academic Director India Level), CS PalakArora (Chair Person Jammu Chapter ICSI), CS Shivani Gupta(Jammu Past  Chairman), CS Vikram Gupta (Council Member), CS SagarMehra (Council Member), Mr. RishiPrakash Singh (Jammu Executive Head),Prof. Prikshat Singh Manhas (SHTM); Dr. TarsemLal(Department of Commerce), and Dr. Sunil Kumar (Department of Commerce).
