JU organizes online ART and CRAFT competitions

Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu in its continuous efforts of providing a virtual platform to students to showcase their talents organized Online Art & Craft Competition. The results of these competitions were announced today by Prof Jasbir Singh, Dean Students Welfare.

First Position in Painting is secured by Bharti Heer from The Law School, JU whereas second and third position was secured by Nitika Khullar from Dept of Environmental Sciences, JU & Shabeena Khurshid from Stephens College of Nursing Jammu respectively. The competition was adjudged by Prof. Sanjana Kaul.

First position in Cartooning is secured by Sivani Devi from Stephens College of Nursing whereas second and third position was secured by Shabnam Mazhair from Stephan College of Nursing & Vishali Jamwal from K.C College of Education respectively. Certificate of Merit was awarded to Ritika Gupta from The Law School, JU. The competition was adjudged by Sh. Manoj Chopra.

First position in Mehndi is secured by Shaesta Bano from GCW, Gandhinagar whereas second and third position was secured by Pritika Gupta from School of Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu & Bharti Heer, from The Law School, JU respectively. The competition was adjudged by Dr Sarika Manhas.

First position in Poster Making is secured by Mohinder Kumar from Dept of Environmental Sciences, JU whereas second and third position is secured by Bharti Heer from The Law School, JU & Vasudha Sharma from Dept of Law, JU respectively. Certificate of Merits in Poster Making competition are awarded to Nekha Rani from Stephen College of Nursing & Poonam Sharma from B.M.S Institute of Paramedical Sciences J&K. The competition was adjudged by Sh Amir Almansoor.

First position in Rangoli is secured by Anjali Jain from GCW, Gandhinagar, Jammu whereas second position is shared by Agamya from Cluster University of Jammu& Mohinder Kumar from Dept of Environmental Science, JU. Third position is secured by Nekha Rani from Stephens College of Nursing respectively. The competition was adjudged by Prof. Samridhi Arora.

Certificate of Appreciation in Sketching is awarded to Ritika Gupta from The Law School, JU & Anmol Bains from Institute of Music & Fine Arts, JU.

Certificate of Appreciation in Collage Competition was awarded to Bharti Heer from The Law School, JU & Mohinder Kumar & Anmol Bains from Dept of Environmental Scienc,JU.

Prof Jasbir Singh, Dean Students Welfare congratulated all the winners and thanked all the participants for their enthusiastic participation. He also emphasized that nothing is possible without the support and participation of our dear students. He also urged students, scholars and members of Civil Society to participate more and more in such competitions which are organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu from time to time. He also informed that there are many more competitions and events in the pipeline and will be organized in due course in order to provide a virtual platform to students to showcase their talent. Prof Jasbir also thanked all the adjudicators for their time and support. Prof. Manoj K. Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu appreciated the efforts of the department of students welfare in keeping students busy to show their talent in different activities during this pandemic period. The department should organize more such activities and involve a large number of students and other youngsters to participate in these activities, He said.

The competition was organized under the guidance of Prof Anupama Vohra, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee & Prof Samridhi Arora, Co-Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee. The competition was coordinated by Ms Ifra Kak, Cultural Officer, (SW) and technical support was provided by Mr Arif Paul, Technical Asst (SW).
